You may not want to hear this, but I sleep like a baby. My head hits the pillow and I'm out like a light. It's a genetic gift my dad passed on to me, for which I am very grateful. But, I do know the importance of sleep for overall health and vitality and I do understand the challenges of not being able to sleep because I have a daughter and a husband that have always struggled.
My daughter was super-sleeper when she was born and around the age of 3, that changed. There were many nights I would go to bed to the sound of her talking herself to sleep or playing in bed. A couple of years ago, her lack of sleep seemed to really be affecting her mood--especially in the morning (I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that she is 12:)) and a few other areas of her life (which I will not mention to protect her privacy). I decided her sleep needed to be our TOP priority.
I was not willing to use medication and I was hesitant to use melatonin (there's not enough research on long term effects) so my only options were natural sleep solutions. I did my research, we sat down together and we made a plan. Ever since that day, if she uses the tools and sticks with the plan, sleep is no longer an issue! Just. Like. That.
